Vampires: Why They Bite
Historian and vampire fanatic Lisa Hilton takes us on a quest from Serbia to New Orleans on an investigation to uncover the reasons behind the public's favourite monster: the vampire. We look into the history of 'real' vampire stories from Serbian villages, the birth of an immortal legend with Bram Stoker's Dracula, and examine how the murderous vampire of the cinema screen from the 1930s has evolved into the outcast anti-hero of True Blood, Twilight and Being Human. The documentary was a one-off production which was used to book-end BBC Three's "I Believe" strand, as well as to tie-in with the start of the second series of Being Human. Phil was the film editor for this project, which was particularly effects heavy with speed changes, green screen compositing and multi-layered transitions.
